Iron Supplement – Fuel Coral Coloration & Macroalgae Growth
Keep your reef system thriving with our ultra-pure Iron supplement. Iron is a critical trace element that supports photosynthesis, vibrant pigmentation, and overall health in both corals and macroalgae. Especially important in systems with refugiums or high coral demand, iron helps bring out those deep greens, reds, and golds.

Iron is quickly depleted in active reef tanks and should be replenished regularly to maintain stability and coloration.
DIRECTIONS:
- Before dosing product, an ICP test should be completed to assess current tank trace element levels and target levels.
- See dosing calculation below to obtain the dosing amount for your tank based on the current and target levels.
- Pick a dosing method (see suggested methods below) and dose accordingly. Dosing should occur in high flow areas, and can be done over a period of time (recommended).
- Complete another ICP test in a month to understand trace element depletion levels in your tank and determine how much you should dose to maintain trace levels.
DOSING CALCULATION
1mL will raise iron levels by 0.5 micrograms in a 100 gallon tank.
To adjust for your tank size, you can use the following formula:
Dose (mL) = Desired Increase (µg/L) × Tank Volume (gal)
Product Strength (µg/L per mL in 100 gal) × 100
Where:
- Tank Volume (gal) = your tank’s real water volume
- Product Strength = 0.50 µg/L per mL in 100 gal
Examples

To raise Iron by +3 µg/L in a 300 gal tank
- Desired increase = 3 µg/L
- Strength = 0.5 µg/L per 1 mL in 100 gal
DOSE = 3 x 300 = 900 = 18 mL

- Desired increase = 3 µg/L
- Strength = 0.5 µg/L per 1 mL in 100 gal
DOSING METHODS:
Recommended Method: Mix the recommended dose into Perfect Corals Complete Tank System to dose with the 2-part solution daily. Each trace element can be added to the corresponding bottle of our Complete Tank System that contains the specific Trace Element for an added boost to your tank supplementation.
By Hand: Can be dosed directly into your tank by hand in a high flow area, using the included dropper or with a separate measuring tool over a minimum of a 2-3 day period.
2 Day dosing: Add 2/3 of the total recommended dose on day 1, 1/3 of the recommended dose on day 2
3 Day dosing: Add 1/3 of the total recommended dose each day for 3 days
Add into Dosing Container: Can be added to a dosing container. To extend the dosing schedule, the product can be mixed with RO/DI water into a dosing container.
