The Bacteria strains in this product were harvested from wild reefs, and include purple nonsulfur bacteria (PNSB), purple sulfur bacteria (PSB) and green sulfur bacteria (GSB) which play critical roles in carbon, nitrogen and sulfur cycling but are not generally found in closed saltwater aquarium systems. 

PNS Deep Cycle™ introduces specialized beneficial bacteria ( Rhodovolum sp., Marichromatium purpuratum and Prosthecochloris sp.) that help create a healthier, more stable reef aquarium by:

• Improving water quality through the natural breakdown of dissolved organic waste.
• Supporting the nitrogen and sulfur cycles, helping maintain long-term biological balance.

Directions

Store at room temperature. Treats 400 gallons. Disperse 1.25 mL/gal broadly into an area of moderate flow; may also be injected or soaked into substrate or biomedia for maximal efficacy (scan QR code to review instructions for special applications); multiple doses can be safely applied and may increase likelihood of permanent colonization. For optimal results, cut protein skimmer, UV sterilizer and ozone generator for one hour following each dose.

Special Application Instructions

For best results, PNS Deep Cycle™ can be applied directly to areas where beneficial bacteria will colonize.

For sand beds:

• Draw the recommended dose into a syringe with a long needle or tube.
• Slowly inject the solution deep into the substrate at several locations throughout the aquarium.
• This helps deliver the bacteria to low-oxygen areas where they thrive.

For dry rock or porous filter media:

1. Place the rock or media into a clean, sealable container.
2. Pour in enough PNS Deep Cycle™ to thoroughly soak the material.
3. Add clean saltwater until the container is completely full, minimizing trapped air.
4. Seal the container and allow the material to soak for 24 hours.
5. After soaking, add both the conditioned rock/media and the soaking water to your aquarium or filtration system.
