200 Gallons 35 ppt Reef Salt Mix, Contains All Major and Minor Trace Elements for Coral Growth
A Marine salt mix made with a blend of naturally sourced sea salt and synthetic salt, with major and minor trace elements essential to reef tank health. Formulated to create the "perfect" environment for your reef tank, this reef salt mix mimics the complexity of natural ocean water by supplying the major and minor and trace elements that corals, invertebrates, and beneficial microorganisms use for growth, color, and overall health.
PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
- Pre-measured 50 gallon bags allow for easier mixing
- Includes all 70 major and minor trace elements necessary for reef tank health, with elevated levels of Manganese and Rubidium
Recommended salinity: 1.024-1.026 at room temperature (between 72–78°F). Each salt mix bag is formulated to create 50 gallons of saltwater at a salinity of 1.025.
ADDITIONAL PARAMETERS
This mix is formulated to produce the following parameters at 1.025 salinity.
- Calcium: 410 ppm
- Magnesium: 1280 ppm
- Alkalinity: 8-9 dkh
- Potassium: 400ppm
Note: Adding water to the suggested amounts will dilute your concentrations and may change your expected parameters.
RECOMMENDED MIXING METHOD
For the best consistency, the recommended way to create your reef salt solution is to mix the entire salt bag at once.
Salt should always be added to water – never the other way around – to avoid excessive precipitation.
- Use RO/DI water at room temperature (72–78°F) for best results.
- Pour the full bag into 50 gallons of water and mix with a high-flow powerhead or mixing pump.
- Salt should fully dissolve and mix clear within 30-60 minutes.
- Measure salinity with a refractometer - see following note.
PORTIONED MIXING
Although this method is not recommended for optimal results, use the following suggested steps to mix in a portioned amount.
- Shake contents of bag well.
- Use RO/DI water at room temperature (72–78°F) for best results.
- Measure out 730.5 g of salt mix into 5 gallons of RO/DI water and mix with a high-flow powerhead or mixing pump.
- Salt should fully dissolve and mix clear within 30-60 minutes.
- Measure salinity with a refractometer - see above note.
