Magnesium Chloride Solution, Pre-Mixed

Magnesium is essential for maintaining ionic balance, calcium stability, and coral growth in reef aquariums. It prevents unwanted calcium carbonate precipitation, ensuring consistent calcium and alkalinity levels, while supporting healthy skeletal development in corals and coralline algae.  

IDEAL TANK LEVELS
The recommended ideal magnesium level to maintain a healthy reef aquarium is between 1,300– 1,350 ppm.

BASIC DOSING INSTRUCTIONS

Shake product well before each use. Add 5 ml (1 capful) of solution per 20 US gallons of aquarium water every other day or as needed to maintain magnesium within the recommended healthy range.

ADVANCED INSTRUCTIONS (Recommended)

Test the aquarium’s magnesium concentration with an accurate test kit before supplementing. Shake well before using. Each ml of Magnesium will increase the magnesium concentration ([Mg²⁺]) in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by 19.8 ppm.If the initial magnesium level is below 1,288 ppm, dose at a maximum rate of 10 ml per 20 US-gallons daily until the target concentration is reached, then continue with daily or weekly maintenance as required.

TO DETERMINE ONGOING DOSAGE

Measure magnesium at the same time each day over a one- to two-week period. Determine the average daily decrease in magnesium (ppm). Divide the decrease by 19.8.Multiply that result by the total system volume (in gallons) to calculate the daily dose (in ml) required to maintain stability.Daily dosing yields more stable magnesium levels than weekly dosing, preventing large fluctuations and providing a more natural environment for corals.
